Yesterday, Brett left for Port with supplies, more seminary students and a team from Kentucky. The team is from my Mom's town - it sure is nice to see folks from "home". I am sorry that I only got to be with them briefly, but know that the Lord will use them in a mighty way for His glory at the clinic just outside of Port-au-Prince.

The majority of the people that we are seeing in the clinic are needing comfort. Our medical teams show compassion and the love of Jesus through their care of the patients. Our seminary students/pastors are following up by meeting with people one-on-one. We have various tents set up for our clinic. One tent is for consultation, one for medication , and one is for offering one-on-one comfort and spiritual truth to a people who are desperately afraid and confused. We thank the Lord that He is at work in a MIGHTY way and that MANY are coming to know Him as their Lord and Savior! Please continue to pray for the Spirit of God to move in the hearts of people. Please also pray that discipleship will be an integral part of this revival in Haiti. May we see a people rise up that SEEK the Lord and HIS ways!
I was not nearly as nervous as usual as I headed to the clinic to share devotions with the staff Wednesday morning. Having spoke in front of hundreds of people the previous two nights made speaking in front of 20 people seem like a piece of cake! :)

Tuesday night, the church was again packed as people gathered together to pray for Haiti. The Lord allowed me to share from John 4 - the story of Jesus with the Samaritan lady at the well. As I shared how ALL of us are created with a desire in our hearts to have a relationship with God, I was slightly amazed that that was "me" that I could hear talking. The way that the Lord helps me to speak so clearly in Creole when he has laid it upon my heart to share - is an amazing thing to be a part of! I shared that many people do not realize that as they search and search to fill the longings in their hearts - it is only through Jesus that our hearts can be satisfied. This lady whom Jesus spoke to was in her 6th relationship with a man. Her heart was not finding the fulfillment that she longed for. Her heart was still thirsty, was still searching, still seeking. Jesus says, "Come to Me." "Abide in Me".......and you will have rest, peace, joy, hope, contentment, ALL that your heart needs ....is IN ME!

How wondrous is the love that God has for us!

This week, our local church is having special evening prayer services for our country of Haiti. Last night the church was packed - which was wonderful to see! I shared some of the things that the Lord has laid upon my heart. One being the verses from 2 Chron. 7:14 - when my people humble themselves and turn from their sin, I will hear their prayers and heal their land.

In order for us to see change in Haiti - we must first see change in our hearts. All the aid and outside help in the world will not achieve anything if the heart of Haiti is not changed. The roots of sin and darkness are permeated so deeply into many facets of this country. It saddens me to see the corruption and lack of compassion that hardens the hearts of so many. It is the Lord and His salvation that we need. It is the Lord and His precepts that bring light into the darkness. And we can't just look at the president and wait for Him to change. No - we must begin a change - starting with "me".

Please pray that Christians around Haiti will be sensitive to the work that the Lord wants to do in us. That we will not be content to remain as we are - but that we will seek the Lord with all our hearts and pray for His Spirit to change us!
