Usually when we think of road rage; we think of angry drivers. Today though, south of Cape Haitian, Haiti; people are actually angry due to the condition of the road. For those of you who have been here - you totally UNDERSTAND! The drive to Cape Haitian is taking longer than ever before because the roads are a terrible mess of pot-holes. Not little ones -- GIANT ones!
Today the people have gone on strike - to show their unhappiness with those in high places ---who they believe have recieved money to fix the roads; but have not taken action. Anyone, traveling on the road today (the National Road, the main road from Port-au-Prince to Cape Haitian) will be stopped. Pray that this demonstration will be peaceful; and that it will not include violence.
We would also appreciate your prayers for this road to be FIXED! :) Many roads have been redone this past year. WE truly appreciate the work put into them! We would also like to see some work on this main road which heads out of town and further south toward our mission, then on down to Port-au-Prince.
